Quality over quantity any day. Qaulity links drive more traffic anyway, and are much more trusted.

    It's all about the quality!

When you get a link from a reputable source you get a better quality link than 100's of low quality links.

IMO it is both. When you talk about a person, you will talk about the quality of the person who is talking about you and quality of a person.

I think a common issue with many people is that they think a link from a PR8 site is a PR8 link! The reality is that every page on the site has it's own PR and most are PR0. if you link from say a profile page on a PR8 site that IS NOT a PR8 link. its going to be a PR0 link in most cases if not all!

I see this all the time and I get confused why people buy into this!

Oh well, it leave more meat on the bone for me!

Quality would be links in your same site niche. Quantity will probably be from a bunch of random blog sites. I usually mix the two up and get pretty good results.

One quality link from a website in your niche is probably worth at least 3 of the same quality not in your niche from what I understand.

A high quantity of quality links. :p

No doubt quality links, from reputable high PR sites, has more impact. But, as has been mentioned above because the main page of a site is high PR doesn't mean links on other pages of that site will give you much benefit, a link on the main page of a high PR site is what I aim for.

I would always prefer a quality link from a well trafficked same niche site... rather than hundreds of links from unrelated niche sites with nobody visiting them!

Thanks for this. I think there's a definite attitude on these forums to the "I got 35 backlinks today" rather than the "I got 1 really good backlink today".

This is clearly important, and I'm working on the get fewer, but higher quality links, philosophy.

I hope I'm not edging myself out of the ball park by doing this.
