I had 100% confidence that the technique does not violate their TOS, but it's nice to have confirmation anyway. Thanks for posting the info :)

i am pretty confident that images above/next to ads is a good way to improve your ctr. however, i can't think of what images to use on my job search site for techies. if anyone has any ideas, i'd love to hear them.

How about pictures of COLD HARD CASH.. since that is what the job searchers are thinking about?? Or even better, pictures of shiny yellow gold bullion..

Webhost, what a nice implementation...I am going to bet that Google will start putting out adstrips with images set in exactly this way....just as soon as they figure out how to do it.

Doubt google will make it an option, if everyone does it maybe it wont work so well.. I may email them to suggest that they include it on their "Optimisation Tips" page tho, to help out the ASnoobs.

Heh...No offense, but that may be a bit over the top. I think picture of folks engaged in typical corporate activities, like a conference room scene or a shot some hottie presenting a PowerPoint presentation.

    As always, IMO.

cool. you are pretty much right: Tech Resumes from Dice, Freelance Coders, Work From Home, Technology Jobs, and related.

i like the first image you attached, where do i get more of those or something similar? the second image seems to be quite overused and a tad boring

    best,
    james

Good news... however, I do suggest you ONLY do this if your ads are consistant in their subject matter so you can match the images to the ads... images of cats over ads for loans will just make you look stupid :)

And AS ALWAYS... content is king, no point having a high CTR if no one is visiting your site cos the content is poor. Always put your visitors first.

UPDATE: I emailed and asked google about the "webhostrank" site, and this is what they have to say

"... have reviewed your site, www.webhostrank.info , and it appears that the site does comply with our program policies....."

I must say thanks Critters for such novel idea!

critters- Thanks for the results of your adsense tweaks, keep 'em coming.

Draw a Pig site: Funny site. Amazing the amount of traffic you get on that. Couple of other ideas...
    1) Maybe put the name and date or at least the date/time of when particular pigs were created (like the Oinkers).
    2) Might be nice to give people a 'quick link' to share their pig so they can send their pig to friends right after they create it with a link back to the shared pig (mmmmmmmm, pig) and, of course, a 'draw your own pig' link.
    3) You sould create a 'shareable' version of the "Results" in the form of a code snippet that people can place on their own page. I bet you'd have tons of MySpace.com pages and similar putting a mini-pic of their pig and what that means about them (keep this version of results vague, so others see results buy not the 'why'). If it hasn't already, this thing will fly through MySpace as people pass it along, and by giving them an easy way to add their pig to their profile, it will stick around.

Hate That Frog: I loved this. You should add some info on the "Perfect Kill"... how far is that? Maybe even some top distances for the day...
My Long: 89.5... Update (I can't stop playing, ugh): 92+
My Short (just to see how vertical I could get him): 5

c'mon, give us a goal to, ahem, shoot for!
