I hope someone corrects me if I am wrong, but...

    1. Going thru your pages, some of the pictures above the ads were too relevant to the ad (ad for pda's had a picture of a pda above it). I am not sure that allowed.

    2. I *think* there needs to be a border between the two, but I am not 100%.

Sorry for my half-assed, non-commitial post.

I was reading a thread about this just before I opened this one and the best bet is for the user to email Google with a screen shot and ask them. They will let you know if it needs a visible border.

Great work. Blended adsense ads are really they key. You want to make them look transparent to the end user as ads and images like you have shown us here is a great way to do so. The first time I blended adsense into my site I had a popular marketing forum cover my story and my click through rates are great. Tutorial sites use this image method a lot. You can see what I did here: birdfluvirus.net

Cory, that is sweet!!! I would also make the story title a link so that when the user runs thier mouse over it it is uniform with the ad above it...

well done my friend, well done.:)

Thanks, It was an SEO experiment. Threw up a 1 page site in about 2 hours and SEO'd it to the best of my knowledge. Bird flu really took off and one month I made over $130 US on adsense on it so it was a good 2 hours of work :) Bird flu will be around for a while yet. Used to rank #2 on yahoo for Bird Flu but have since decreased in the ranks. I'm going to build out the site and see how well it can do and try to get high rankings again :)

Cory, I do not mean to be an alarmist, but...do you think that 'click here to read to stooooooooooooory' can be considered misleading? I personally think it is genius, at first I wondered how you changed the ad to say that..lol

add: I would also get the font to match the adsense font as i did on my site.

Looks good Cory. Your page isn't looking right in Firefox though. The ads are overlapping the content right under it.

    Critters,

I have just submitted to Google for Adsense. I have some questions for you. Do the ads in Adsense change from time to time on your site? If so, how do you keep up with the images you place above the ads?

    Is this a silly question?

Now... the blended image beside adsense look good. But if your site is SEO'd enough, that don't give you higher income via Adsense. You just need a little more traffic that you can get. Do try www.digg.com or www.slashdot.org to publish you articles and get more traffic.

One of my blogs got more that 2000 unique traffic per day but sometimes can go upto 5000 unique traffic per day. I also found that all this ideas in this thread can also be implemented on Clicksor.

There is no specific way to increase your CTR, only what you can always do is writing more technically specific website or blog.

First off, another thanks so much for the incredible information, and means for others to share similarly important information.

I tried playing with AdSense on a friend of mines site that's currently under construction ( www.pspatlas.com ). I'm primarily worried about the bottom ads with picture to left and right. Is there enough space between the ads and pics?

Additionally I've heard it better to place ads above the fold. Would you recommend the same on this site? These can currently be found on any page besides the index, below the fold and above the headings.
