Google may not want people accidentally clikcing on the ads.

 

when google told you? have any evidence on that. I'd emailed google about that and they said that its not violate TOS, and there's no way google will ban any publisher that put images above ads

 

Except the people using this technique have emailed Google and gotten the green light. That is what Crfitter has advised from the beggining for every person utilizing this.

Who are you going to put your trust in: Google or IamNed

I have testet it now on my "Free eCards" Website.

Maybe G. knows this trick (If we can call it a trick) now and will not display all ads?

But it is not correct working on www.xxxxx/4images/index.php !!
Why?? Why on the mainsite good and on the ...index.php not good?

Sometimes 2 on the left and sometimes only one and sometimes in the middle no ads.

Other Questions:

- I have not to contact G. I think? Because Ads are with a border and Pictures generic and ok??

When you're using multiple ad units like you are, there's no guarantee that the units other than the first one will be filled, so it's important that you use the alternate URL facility to display something to take the place of those ads so that you get a consistent look and feel. Even if it's just links to Amazon that you place in a bordered box.

Did anyone see page impressions drop with 50-70% while using this technique, because that's happening to me right now after I started using it.
The ads still show up though, were also approved by Google. Shouldn't the number of page impression stay pretty much the same if I still have the same number of ads and visitors.

Edit: why do I get a feeling after doing some more research that there is a catch to this technique and that a reply to the E-mail that I sent to Google will stir up this thread?

Sure, CTR is higher, but with much lower page impressions earnings are not going to be so spectacular. It's also weird that the average earnings I made between 8-11AM EST (the more busier hours) is 50% less than the average earnings I made between 0-8AM EST (less busiest hours). It's like someone turned on/off some switch.

Also, according to my Awstats I'm getting the normal amount of visitors like any other day, which is about 5,000-6,000 uniques.

 

Give it more time to get more data in, then make your own conclusions. Most people have found it helps increase earnings, I don't think anyone has said it has reduced earnings? If you post your site URL we can take a look, maybe your implementation of images+ads is not so good?

 

Earnings are better (although not shocking), CTR for pages have improved immensely, that's not the problen, the problem is page impressions. I mean, with 50% decrease in page impressions, the effect of a higher CTR is minimilized.

If I get better CTR on the pages involved, soemtimes 10 fold, then I don't think there's anything wrong with the way I added the graphics. Btw, I don't understand what it has to do with page impresssions Critters, can you explan?
I mean, I can have the technique executed in the worst possible way (but still ok according to Google's TOS), yet that shouldn't mean that page impressions go down on all those pages with 50% now should it? I'm not talking about an incident, on every single page that has the graphics added page impressions went down with 50% or so. I tried different browsers, checked all the pages involved and always 4 ads show up like any other day. I really don't get this...

 

Is this from today's stats? you know they are not reliable. Or is this from yesterday/last week?

I more and more start to believe that the statics page doesn't make sense. The total impressions for all pages is close to what it should be and Google also confirmed this, it's the page impressions for single channels that seem to be way off, but they didn't say anything about that in their reply.
I will follow your advice and wait a few days and then compare the results and report back. Thanks for your help Critters

 

Yer, the current days stats are always off, some people think that the stats are spread over several servers that don't sync till the next day, plus there is adjustments n stuff.. give it 2 or 3 days then look at the data.
