I noticed that on this forum, when google ads aren't showing ads with the URL of qksrv, do they have a proper name. When i searched on google, it came up with blocking these ads because its spyware. Anyone know

several people use them as a backup to google ads - in adsense you can set an alternate url for ads if google would display the charity ads (the free ones) because the page isn't spidered yet.

I believe that cj is a lot less fruitful than google ads, but they are an additional source of revenue.

I think it depends what you do with them... although I am still to find out :)

It gives you the option when you generate the ad code in your adsense control panel.

It is just the URL for their ad server.

    See this link

What URL would you put as the alternate address, would you put the commission junction link because that doesn't seem to work?

Anthony is right it is just a URL.

I do a lot better from CJ than Adsense.

I've heard their popups are viruses and spyware, if this is true it violates Google's TOS.

Most affiliate programs are considered spyware and the spyware scanners will pick their tracking cookies up and delete them. (hope you can get paid when folks erase cookies  )

Don't worry about it, most every service on the internet collects information, CJ programs are no different.

You have to allow the cookie to gain access to their site or it will drive you crazy.

Don't worry about it, just sign up and get started, we are all guilty of spreading spyware, you got to do it to make money man. Just don’t take the microchip when they want to put it in your forehead......

Thanks, I probably will sign up, I couldn't find in the TOS about disclosing how much you make from CJ. Anyone wish to comment?

You do not have to discuss anything you earn, some folks are making millions from CJ every year.

But you have to have millions of hits per day on a lot of websites to make millions of dollars.

    CJ is mostly action-based.

you make money when someone buys something, or when they generate a lead, etc.

it isn't the same as adsense at all. it can work well but it takes a bit more than slapping an ad on a page and hoping people click on it often :)
