    Hello Everyone,

I am noticing a trend from some time. The rise of Q and A websites as well as top social bookmarking websites starting a Q and A session just like Yahoo Answers.

What do you thing, will it help in website promotion or Seo campaign?

Please give your views if you are doing it.

Well don't expect any Serp improvement from Q and A websites. They are great for diversification, sure, but even for that you can get tons of links and for much cheaper.

One huge advantages and reasons why are Q and A websites even being used and becoming popular is cheap traffic. They are quite easy, or at least used to be, easy to rank and some of them will be naturally ranking for some long tail terms in the Google. And thus you will receive some traffic here and there from them. However, unless you are trying to rank them actively, then it won't be anything amazing. So yes, anchor diversity + free traffic.

Google’s Hummingbird algorithm is becoming better and better in understanding search queries like long-tail keyphrases and questions.

In addition "Voice Search" is becoming more and more important due to people using more and more Voice Assistants like Siri, Google Now,.... and asking them questions.

Taking that into account Q & A is becoming more and more important for Google.

Belief is that when adding Q &A sections to your pages you'll have a good chance ranking for those questions (assuming your answers are unique content and your pages do not contain duplicate/low quality content).
