CPM networks are like CPC networks -- the CPM rates go up and down, then up again, then down again. You always make less at the beginning of the year, and more at the end of the year.

Besides Valueclick and Casale, there is Tribal Fusion, Burst Media, and plenty of others. Do a search on Google for "cpm networks". There are way too many to list, and some are more reliable than others.

I use Valueclick as my main CPM Network, with Casale as a back-up. The CPM really depends on the type of ad (banner vs. pop-up vs. rectange) and another thing to consider is how often they can fill the space with a paid advertisement instead of a non-paying Public Service Announcement.

So it's best to sign up for a few and use defaults. For example, when Valueclick does not have an advertiser for me, it pulls up my Casale account to deliver an ad.

Adbrite is easy to set-up as well.

As far $$ to expect... it's a struggle to get even $1 CPM TOTAL even when having multiple ad units from multiple CPM networks on the same page.

Valueclick and casale are networks based on reach so sheer number of impressions is more valuable than quality. Cpm's are ok but not much different than having google. If you have a branded site with good design, then the cpm's go up quite a bit. 2-3cpms are what you can expect for regular banner ads and 5-7 for rich media ads. All of this also depends on the genre of your site. These numbers are based off of an entertainment site. Business sites and news sites have much higher cpms like double.

    Rapeleg,
40-50 cpm's are usually regulated to top tier branded vertical sites such as MTV, IGN, etc. and usually not for regular inventory. More so for video ads, or page takeovers, etc. If you have any questions I've been involved with the online ad market since it's inception. Feel free to ask.

Here's my site. Rapvideo.com pre-rolls 15-30cpms, banner ads average around 1.50 - 2.00, rich media ads start at 5 cpm. Site could and will be better monetized but just in beta now and only launched 2 months ago. Averaging around 35k uniques a day.
