On one domain registration site , I have found a excellent .co.uk name for sale. It seems I could make an account and go right ahead to buy it. But... looking for a cheaper registration site, I find that in fact the domain is still marked as registered, though registration is suspended as it needs to be renewed. So, two questions... is the grace period on .co.uk domains 30 days in which case this site should be available and are .co.uk names restricted to UK residents. I suppose I should also ask why one domain seller can offer this domain for sale while others cannot?
.CO.UK domains are available for anyone in the world to register. Unless it has changed recently, UK domains drop either 92 or 99 days after expiry. Why one registrar says a specific domain is available and another doesn't I can't be certain, but it's probably a technical fault at one of them.
What makes you say that Nosfer? If Norfstar is right and co.uk domians have a three month redemption period, then I would be putting money down on something I had no right to own. I wish Nominet was a bit clearer.
That's what other people told me as well. If it's a decent name in the .co.uk, the dropcathers will definately catch it as well
