Everyone involved in this site may be interested in this thread.

If a buyer can't be found maybe you would be interested in working for me on admin, marketing or coding?

I cannot spend time on admin and I cannot code but I can sure help on marketing - providing that this gets done.

    Anyways, good luck!

I can help with admin or coding (though I would be a bit slow on the coding part). Can help fix css/design glitches.

    Thanks Jim.

Hopefully I can put together a list of people prepared to help either myself or assist the new owner if the site changes hands.

I wouldnt sell it. It will be much more valuable in 6 months after you've worked out the bugs and promoted it more.

Maybe so, the problem is I don't have time to do it. Would be a shame for the site to suffer just because I can't give it the attention it deserves.

If anybody is interested in PageRank the site seems to have PR5. Not bad for less than 4 weeks.:D

How are things going so far? Any new registrations? I think we should do some major promoting.

Also, I would have a list of suggestion for you:
add link title when you give out the links ("Your outbound link details")
I would try to define more categories as much people fall into the other category which contains various (and weird) links to different websites.
I don't know if this would be a good idea, but we could have the possibility to see a list of available links, we would choose which one are the most targetted and we would include them on our page, then we would validate it and get the reward for the number of link we choosed. (maybe set up a maximum amount of link)

I'll write some more as they come.

EDIT1: Links should be gathered directly from the server in a non-static way since otherwise it's hard to keep track of those who don't play it by the rules.
I'm not sure about that buy links part since in my opinion, it's not fair to get money over a free service. You would be selling links on another website who uses your service for free but don't get any reward from getting link bought by someone elses... Don't sell something that isn't yours, especially if those who have the links on their page decide they don't want it anymore, you've got an angry customer.

The site has been sold (the domain was transferred today) and I am sure the new owner has plenty of ideas to test out.

I have referred him to this thread and no doubt your suggestions will be taken onboard.

One of the main reasons I didn't use a php include to serve the links was due to the hosting load that it would give. Maybe with a better host this is now viable.

If the ads are served using php then it would probably mean you couldn't run the coop at the same time.

Well, could be simply fixed by getting it to be cached on the user local server. This cache would be updated daily, or weekly or whatever. Anyway, good luck to the new owner.

I think that's correct. I posted a question on the COOP board and was pretty much told that a big deciding factor as to whether or not the two systems could be run side by side was whether or not the ads are served from a script.

So if the scheme starts serving ads automatically I'm afraid that I'd have to leave it. Many other coop members would have to do the same. Or atleast restrict their use of it to certain sites with no coop.

Well, my idea is not to make the links (or ads) to become automatical. It's just to be able to have a certain control over the users themselves. Those links wouldn't really change, it's just that if someone is not doing their stuff right with the system, the admin as the possibility to act immediately.

I don't know if it can fix this problem (2 ads network, pyramidlinking isn't ads in my opinion), but I don't really care. If you think the coop is better, just go for it.

I started a campaign a couple of weeks ago. Report now shows two backlinks. I checked them out - neither has a link back to me. I'm assuming the spider found the links in place and then they were removed (cheaters). Small sample size, I know, but so far it has proven ineffective for me since it is 100% cheaters.
