Hey guys, I am having a problem logging in with SSH. I am able to type in the host I want to log into. Then when the black screen asks for the user name I type in root and then when it moves down to the password line I can not type in the password. I just logged into today using the same computer and details. I restarted my computer..server is fine...any thoughts?
You are really typing the passwords, but you can't see it on the screen. The screen will just be black. This is just a security precaution.
Just type your password and hit enter, the typed password is not visible.... Or copy password and paste paste = ctrl + insert
when you type the password it gets typed but you can't see because it is invisible. just type password and press enter and you will be logged in to your server.
Cramming a mammoth of passwords has never been easier. If you want a seamless log in, trying out a site that I found may help. I forgot mine for vatas-va-employee-login but managed to get it sorted out. Luckily...
From what i understand, this is a security measure put in place by Linux. You can enter the password and while it doesn't show on the screen, once you press enter you will be able to login to the system.
