Hi all, I've read about the idea of getting a link to your website on other sites that have the same keywords as your own site. As well as this would it be useful to get your url in places such as forums? For example if I post on a forum and have my url in my signature at the bottom of my post, then would that be picked up by the google bots? Also, would actually posting the link on forums be useful, and what if i posted an image on a forum and the image was hosted on the remote sever that i use, so that the domain name(which is the same as the website) would be in the forum code? Also, would it be useful if the forums are unrelated to the website and don't contain the key words? Thanks for any tips.
Yes, signature from forums do help you increase your IBL try to use link:siteurl operator from one of the signature here in DP you'll see links from this forums.
Yes, forum links are useful. I am not sure about it but I guess it will not do as good as links do. No matter where on the forums you are posting. You will get backlink from your sig link without any problem.
