Putting Up Links

I had added a link to a post I made about tiny URL's and I had hoped to have others look at it to see if it was something useful and safe to use. However, the link was edited out of my post. Can anyone explain what I did wrong or why the link was removed? I see lots of links here that are already what you might call a small or hidden URL's, but they have not be removed. I really thought this was a site to get answers to business questions and questions about tools and advertisements, where people would be open to helping others.

If you see something that violates our rules (like a hidden link or fake signature), just use the "Report Post" option.
