lets say im writing an article in my blog and i was talking about microsoft so i made it as an anchor text for a link to microsoft.com is this good for me or not ? and how many links i should put in one page for other sites!
Why would it be bad to give your visitors a good reference to the actual content on your web page? As for SEO it has no postive value to give outbound links, however linking to the wrong type of sites can result in negative results. Keep it clean, relevant and accurate and you'll be fine.
If putting outbound links used to help, then people will start to put links to sites like google, yahoo etc on all their pages. Only back links helps; outbound links do not help in any way.
Well, if you're keen on become a reliable and selfless website, then yeah, related, quality outbound links are great. If you're more or less selfish and don't want to redirect users from your website, then you wouldn't post helpful URLs.
in my opinian....dont ever think of wether its good or bad...just go a head ..write ur content as you want, as long its usefull for ur visitor and for me, the way you give to the right reference link, it would be appreaciate for your visitor...
If you are providing your reader a quality and related resources link, than it would be nice, still you can put rel="nofollow" or rel="external nofollow" to avoid any penalties.
wont prefer giving links to other sites. you may give their reference while writing your content your visitors would appreciate this also if they find the reference valuable try to gain more and more quality backlinks
Agree if you are creating your website only for search engine. But if your are creating for human then you should provide much as possible information and facility for your visitors and I don't think so it would be the bad idea for make your visitors happy.
I have read on many occasions that linking to trusted sites such as the bbc can help with rankings as they are classed as an authorative site
For something like Microsoft I would not link to that... everyone knows where to find them. But on our site, if we are talking about a specific person we will, more often than not, link to their IMDB page as our users find it useful.
Yes, I also heard this.. if you put some good links like some edu sites and gov sites.. then it will help your site to get rank well.
If you are talking about for your visitor then out a good link, thus really useful for your visitor and they like. And SEA Point of view to use rel="nofollow" tag on links.
If I'm not been mistaken, I think i've read about it too somewhere… but the point was getting links from "authorative site". Does anyone know about a specific reliable article that talks about this issue? Thanks.
