Hi, I have seen websites that put on the footer of their page a short, fully visible list of keywords and perhaps even a description. Other sites I have seen put the keywords at the top of the page, above the template. Are either of these methods frowned upon by the search engines? Could they result in penalties or banning? Are they helpful? Thanks!
Show us an example of what you are talking about. Typically, just giving a list of keywords on the page is a bad idea.
i dont think either of those examples are too bad by themselves. However, if you are using those techniques with other questionable techniques they could add up to give you a negative reaction from the SEs. I would suggest you be a little more creative with your keywords.
Yeh, I usually do something more like: "Thank you for visiting mydomain.com, your source for keyword1 and keyword2. Please contact us if you have any questions."
1. It's very important that you do not build a keyword stuff pattern. 2. It's very important that you do not use any Hydden css rule or apply any invisible text. Google can track that.
