Hey Guys! This is my first post and I'm a complete newbie so excuse me if this has been asked 100 000 times or so and I'm in the wrong forum. I'm just starting up a new blog in the self-help category where I'm gonna share some insights for free but later on if it starts to attract visitors I want to incorporate ads. My question is if you guys think it's better for future ad-clicking purposes to put the really golden info I'm giving away for free on the first page or if it's better to put a background story there and then have ppl klick into the next page to see the really interesting material? Thanks in advance, all help appreciated. Daxter
In my opinion you should put some interesting and catchy on first page and make them curious for more. This usually makes them clicking on your ads, or clicking through to the next page where you have another chance. But that's my opinion, let's see what the other mates here have to say.
Both methods work just as well as each other. It depends on the type of visitor you're attracting. Some publishers like to create sharp, straight to the point websites, that give you what you're expecting as soon as you visit their landing page. With good ad optimization you can get visitors to 'see' your Adsense ads and get the all important click. This method works well with raw technical information (information about code, software etc...). It also works well, if you have a lot of traffic passing through your site. But a more gentler approach might be appropriate if you're divulging 'self-help' information. Your visitors will be expecting an introduction and some basic background to the core information that you're giving away. This option also helps you spread the number of pages you can place Adsense ads. The choice is yours but be assured theirs no true definitive answer. If you have the option to experiment, do so. But I would probably spread the information out a little over a few pages. Good luck!.
Thank you so much for your quick answers and help and insight. I'll probably go with the more gentler approach and give background on the first page and a little hype about what's coming but not too much because I think the info I'm actually giving out for free is golden and overselling it might draw credibility from it or make it sound like there'll be costs further into the site... Thanks again, really appreciate your time. Daxter

i think you must put some interesting in first page because many people will not like to read background, but all people will like to read interesting, you can also put background but in another page not in first page
