Probably violates the TOS, but has anybody ever tried placing AdSense in their eBay listings or About Me pages? Just crossed my mind and was curious.

I would imagine there are restrictions to exactly what kind of code you can have on ebay pages?

I think it'd be more likely to be against the ebay TOS than the adsense ones; you're allowed to have ads on pages/sites you don't own-- take digitalpoint's revenue sharing for example.

It's against both Google's and eBay's rules to do that, so I would assume that it shouldn't be done. Also, eBay probably strips out any javascript anyway

yeah, I assumed JS wouldn't work on ebay.

where is it against google's TOS, though?

So, if you can have adsense on sites you don't own, couldn't you place ads on sites like myspace and such?

theoretically, maybe. however, myspace probably doesn't allow JS, like most sites.

i guess you could put an affiliate link...would make more sense as they are looking to actually buy something.
    Simple <a href link...maybe ok?

yet so many people do it

not saying your wrong at all! just saying that they dont do a very good job of enforcing that rule

so many auctions have links to personal sites selling stuff...like loads of electronics websites that sell also on ebay have links to their main shop.

    tut tut ebay.

not really, you can have certain link. you can read their link policy
    http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/listing-links.html
but, put adsense in ebay listing, I won't try it. ebay have adsense on their website too.

    only some javascript allow.

link in the listing will allow only for more information of product. other will break policies.

    well, you can try.
