Is it a wise idea to put a 60 day money back guarantee on your CB digital product?

I would guess that the pros would be higher conversions, but the con would be a higher refund rate.

Well if you haven't got a money back guarantee on your site then your less likely to get sales any way so I would rather take the risk and put the guarantee on the site and if they refund they refund.

A 60 day money back guarantee would attract more sales.

I'm not sure, but I think you HAVE to state money-back guarantee for all Clickbank products.

That's a requirement, as far as I know.

Yeah you must display this somewhere on your product as a publisher, not as an aff.

    - A 60 Days Money Back Guarantee is Required by clickbank.

    - Mentioning it on your website increase conversion several times over.

    - When someone make a purchase he is mailed the receipt and there are also instructions on how to refund - so even if you dont mention it the customer can easily find out.

    - If thers no refund available, the customer can still ask his bank for a chargeback and get his money back anyways, whenever this happen clickbank charge extra fees to the afifliate/publisher as well.

    - Conclusion: Clickbank Refund policy may sound a bad thing but in reality it boosts sales.

Hmmm. Although it increases sales, but if your product leaves a small impression on your buyers, then it gets a lot of refunds too.
I think there should have been a choice given to publishers because 60 days is a huge amount of time.
Most people don't take a refund, because, after all they did use your product. But, the hurt for publisher lies in the case when the buyer uses the product and likes it, but still asks for a refund.
There are many such scammers out there...

    I think it's 56 days (8 weeks) instead of 60 days?

yea it used to be 60, then they changed it. They said you can still display 60 days when they changed it though, I assume to make it so publishers didnt have to change their pages.

You should have a refund, it is what I like to call an "Idiot" filter, it filter's out all the ebook's written by idiots that have no useful content.

So if your product isn't worth purchasing, then you can expect the refunds to be requested, so don't publish the product until you can confidently say that you have no problem putting a guarantee on it!

    Good Luck

This is typical, however when comparing the number of "scammers" with the number of sales that the "money back guarantee" brings its not really a problems.

Sales are increased many times over - more money in your pocket so why bother about some scummers asking for a refund. Especially when there are lot of people that get your product for free using other means....

Anyways, clickbank force this and we can do nothing about it (for good or for bad)...

    hey guys,

Vendors are not forced to display a money back offer on their websites. They dont have to display anything if they choose not to. However, they must still refund purchases if requested.

Also, it is now 60 days - not 56 days.

    Cheers,

    Swerd

There can and have been refunds given between 60 and 90 days, but those are extreme circumstances. This is all to avoid the dreaded chargeback, which costs everyone involved money and credibility.

    What about affiliates?

Ive thought about including money back guarantee icon in my landing pages but the thing is that in my opinion this would have a negative effect in buyers who would probably initiate a transaction with the mentality of getting their money back. Increasing therefore the refund rate.

On the other hand it would increase the landing page CTR.

Ive noticed from landing pages created by big names in affiliate marketing that they most commonly DO NOT include the money back guarantee icon or info. in their landing pages.

    What do you think?
