Putfile sold

    Putfile.com - Putfile is a fairly popular file hosting service among MySpace users. The company just got acquired by HandHeld Entertainment, a consumer electronics firm, for $7.1 million ($1.08 million in cash and $6.0 million in common stock). UK-based Putfile doesn’t get much coverage, but it’s huge: it received 13.7 million unique visitors and 83 million pageviews in January 2006. It’s been around since 2004, so they had time to build the traffic.
