Lets say i put anime links on my website from youtube and stuff would that be copyright infringement. Even though it is not hosted on my website
There's no law which says you can't post a link to another website on your own website. Actually cracking youtube and stealing the videos and uploading them on your own site - ie. not streaming through YouTube - is, on the other hand, illegal.
There's actually a script you download to startup your own site like that. It allows you to steal movies from various sites like YouTube.
anyone if they can provide a link to the actual legislation about it then it would put my mind at ease
yes linking to copy right media is now not legal as a website that used to link to movies got closed down because that is what they did? well this site did get done for doing it but it was a very big website. so i would say it is yes
There is *nothing* illegal about LINKING to videos on youtube, as long as they are legit videos and not copyrighted. Ie. if you upload an illegal rip of the latest film in the cinema to youtube, then link to it on your site. That is illegal both in terms that you are breaking copyright legislation and inciting such activities.
