Push and pull mail

    No, it is IT speak not marketing

    Pull email is the traditional way, where you sitting at your computer and click the "Get Mail" or "Send and Receive" button and it pulls the email from the server to your client.

    Push email is often in connection with phones such as blackberrys but doesnt have to be. Rather than waiting for the client to request new email the server instead broadcasts the fact there is email and pushes that email to your client (ie your blackberry).
