Purpose of Debit Card in paypal?

    what is the purpose of debit card (given by any bank) for my paypal account in India?? There is section for adding card in the paypal account but there only I can add my credit card not debit card but there I can see "Add your debit or credit card" and there is no option for handling the debit card. I have a debit card of SBI and how can I use it for my paypal?

    In India, debit cards are used to withdrawing cash from ATM's and shopping online from sites like Flipkart.

    But, debit cards don't work with PayPal. You need credit card.

    Ok but can I add my brother's/sister's credit card to my paypal account?? I mean if the credit card not registered by my name then can I add credit card any of my family member's? does paypal allow it that the paypal account is registered with one name and the credit card holder's name is different one?

    You cannot use "debit" debit card or raw debit card on paypal. You can use "prepaid credit card" its basically a debit card but it can be used as international credit card. The only difference is that you put funds on it and not borrow from your bank.

    Not all the country can add debit card, only same country.

    Debit card from some Indian banks can be used for verifying your PayPal account but no Indian debit card can be used to fund your paypal account or to send payments.

    I use befit cards with paypal. But not from every bank. You must check not only the type of the card, the bank too.
