    Hi
this is about a sale previously acquired on thread:
    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=972785

the user: IntellectToday has been banned and i (like a few others) initially bought links from this person.

i need to hear from you if you have bought links too from IntellectToday as he has been avoiding me and has removed all of the advertising previously purchased in advance from his site?

does anyone know why he has been banned and the above thread closed?

    paul

Yes I paid him $10, and he has not honored our arrangement. I tried emailing him but his email account has been canceled and so the mail bounced back.

    thanks tony:

    Amount accumulatively taken so far:
    Taken by: IntellectToday
    Paulgee: $55.50
    TonyCap: $10.00
    Total: $65.50

    Story so far:
The agreement was as per above thread for 365 days of advertising for $5.00 in the footer of the mentioned site, myself and quite a few others agreed and paid money to this person on the basis of that agreement and the payment was money sent by paypal directly to his account, in my instance the adverts were placed the same day and were visible on every page throughout the site, I paid for my advertisements on the 19 Aug. 2008 in advance.

On the: (15-09-2008) I was checking all my advertising when I noticed that all my links had gone from “IntellectToday’s” site, following that and over the course of the next few days I sent emails to “IntellectToday’s” last known email address and during doing this also noticed that he had been banned from this forum, further; I never received a reply from him and a couple of emails actually bounced back from his email address:

On the (19-09-2008) I took a google cache of the original advertisement thread, his front page (with the links missing) and also a further copy of the cached page that had not been refreshed as follows:

This page had been refreshed by googles cache with the links removed on the 08-09-2008:
    http://www.globel.co.uk/PureTalkForumfrontpage.pdf

This page clearly shows that the links as agreed were on “IntellectToday’s” site on 30-08-2008:
    http://www.globel.co.uk/PureTalkForumDebateDisc.pdf

So somewhere between 30-08-2008 and 08-09-2008 ALL links were removed, taken to the extreme that means my links (personally) were on that page for a maximum of 19 days, a far cry from 365 as promised.

    Next: dispute raised with paypal.

    Next Part:

About paypal: There is a warning somewhere in here!

I raised a dispute with paypal, “IntellectToday” made many comments that were false and even said I had agreed to some other terms, LOL, I don’t know about everyone else but all I saw was the sale thread with his offer and I paid him through paypal? Full stop.

But as soon as I escalated the dispute to a Claim within paypal I got the following message:

“We're unable to decide this claim in your favour at this time. PayPal's Buyer Complaint Policy applies to the delivery of goods but not to disputes about merchandise quality.”

It was not even looked at by a human person; their program decided that they were not getting involved as soon as I clicked the button to escalate on the factors contained heirin!

    So theoretically:
I had paid for a SERVICE from “IntellectToday”
He had delivered on the day of payment (even although that payment was for the whole)!
The quality is defined as to the length of time of that service?

I also thought being as “IntellectToday” had an itrade of 30+ I was pretty sure he was not going to run a scam, but he did, and there are several that bought into it based on previous itrade and the security of paypal!

This whole thread and everything I do after this has nothing to do with the physical money, the principle is that accumulatively this person has acquired funds by deceit for lot’s of small amounts and even although this essentially goes on all the time and we do get little warnings here and there, this person abused our trust and it cannot go on! He will only do it again to some other poor unsuspecting soul, probably one that cannot afford it either, even children come on here to make their selves pocket money and learn about the web, so don’t look at this as you disputing such a small amount, even if you can afford to loose it like myself, look at it as though you might be helping others, this person should not be allowed to get away with it.

So how many of you are prepared to put your foot down and draw a line in the sand?
I need the support of others that have had the same from the same thread and his itrade so please mark this petition and let’s see what we can do.

    Paul

I got scammed by “IntellectToday” too.
I paid him $5 for 365 day footer link placement on the site mentioned before.
The link was live a few weeks and then it was gone.

    thanks Imsi:

    Amount accumulatively taken so far:
    Taken by: IntellectToday
    User Paulgee: $55.50
    User TonyCap: $10.00
    User Imsi: $5.00
    Total Scam: $70.50

Will keep this thread updated with progress, remember it is not the amount that is important here; it is the way in which it was acquired!

    Thanks again.

Not to be a bummer, but you are likely to get banned yourself for posting this thread. DP doesn't allow these types of threads as they do not monitor sales made on here nor do they enforce any agreements made by users.

Just a heads up so you don't get in to trouble. :)
