I have a suspicion I want to report. About 2 weeks back I decided to try promoting register cleaner product on one of my websites that has large traffic. I put the ads up for the most popular reg cleaner product on clickbank. I had a sale in less than 5 minutes! I thought my god, this is easy, I will be rich. But than I send thousands of hops in the next days and not a single sale anymore. I have downloaded the product myself. The way it works is, you need to download, install, run the scanner (took about 15 minutes with my comp) and than it recommends to buy a pro copy. There is NO WAY anyone can do all that in just few minutes + type in their details in order form. I have a feeling that the vendor did this purchase using some auto system (was a paypal purchase) in order to motivate me and most important - to increase their gravity by selling through new affiliate and get themselves to the top in their niche in clickbank. What do you think?
Might have been just pure coincidence.. Vendor's can always create new affiliate accounts to make purchases through them, using someone else's name .. thus increase gravity and attract new affiliates. Al.
This sounds very much like what happens to me all the time. Usually when i am testing a product, I get sales very fast. But when I start promoting the product for real, the conversion rates i got during the testing process greatly differs. I think some vendors can do that. Of course if I got a sale after 1 hour of promoting a product, I would be ready to buy more adwords traffic and send to the page.
