Purchasing A House | What to look for?

We're torn between two builders. They both can offer around a 2,700 Square feet colonial house.

Schumacher can build this house for $166,000 without septic, drive, etc.

Wayne Homes can build this house for $150,000 without septic, drive, etc after around $18,000 in promotional offers they have going on till the 31st. After the 31st it will go up to 168,000.

The base price of Schumacher home is $166,000 while the base price of Wayne Homes is 154,000. It'll be around $168,000 after we add the oak doors, oak cabinets, oak trim, double hung windows, etc. Schumacher includes all of the oak and windows in their base price already.

What other stuff shall I look for?

 

I'd look for a house with a couple of bedrooms, a bathroom, a kitchen, living room, the essentials

 

The location of your house and how far is it from schools, malls and work place.

 

dry rot, termites, murder's living in the same street. the list is endless. perhaps the best bit of advice i was given, have your whits about you, and dont be afraid to ask questions or question things that dont look quite right

 

buy land and build your own house... thats what i did and you can get everything you want the way you want it

 

How much is 2,700 Square feet in square meters? Get a good bath room with a bubble bath. Get a good kitchen made of quality material. And oak panel on the floor. Dont use gold cranes and handles, thats ugly. An elctric car port is nice.
