I have a question... I am outsourcing to a third party to design/program my forum using Vbulletin.

    Now I had certain concerns.

When I make a purchase of VB, how do I make sure that the third party who is designing my software doesnot take the Software & Run. I mean do you get a registeration code for VB? How can you protect it and make sure its not miss used?

actually the third party who is designing the software have nothing to do with it. because you get your own code from where you can do the installation. if they use the same code for the second site (new domain) then vbulletin will catch them. what they can do is just get a nulled version of it. so dont worry.

    nothing will happen.

When you install or upgrade VBulletin, you have to enter a customer number. This is what connects the install to your VB account.

You might want to run through the install script and enter the customer number yourself, instead of just giving that information out. But even if you enter that information yourself, it could probably still be extracted from the VB files.

If you have to worry about that company running with your information, maybe you should use someone else.

I was thinking the same thing. You can also contact VBulletin themselves and ask this same question.
