From my personal experiance , most popups and other so called targeted marketing doesn't work very well. Those really cheap ones like 1000 visitors for $1.00 are usally generated by bots or other scripts. I would recommend asking to see a small clients list of people from a company before I would buy from them. Contact those people and see if they where happy with the service or not. Regards Hal
It really depends on what the purposes of the traffic are, which type of site, which type of products or service you offer. For some Popunders are working, for some Redirected Traffic is working, for some Signups are working, and for some nothing is working. But you’re right, there are a lot of bogus sites that don’t not deliver real visitors, but there are real traffic delivery firms with real customer service, and for some buying traffic is working great. It all depends. Remember, web traffic does mirror a 'billboard' ad. We recommend that (if possible) that you generate a special ad page for your web traffic campaign (instead of sending them to your websites main page) that may include a super special, an outstanding product or top seller, weekly special or one time offer. Consider a web traffic campaign like a newspaper or billboard ad when you drive by on the highway, you have to get them interested to stay and make that purchase within seconds.
The guy is oviously asking if its ok... because deep down he knows its not. If you really want to purchase traffic... do some PPC with the big wigs... or goto some very large - related sites and buy some ad space. If anyone knows another legit medium that is effective for purchased traffic... let a brotha know.
The best option is to generate traffic from the free search engines (google, Yahoo…). But there are a few points you have to consider: In order to get traffic from the SE’s you have to rank well in the search pages – To get into the top 10 search results, you should develop a theme based site that focuses on a narrow niche market with good demand and low competition. Your site should consist of a big number of content pages (I’d say at least 50 to generate substantial traffic). Each of these content pages should focus only on one keyword that fits with your theme (niche). Using that approach to drive traffic will take some time, but it’s well worth the effort. If you need traffic immediately, I would invest in pay-per-clicks. The best way to succeed with PPC’s is to bid on hundreds of less-obvious keywords – this will require some research, but it will also save you quite a bit of money. Forget about expensive general keywords (except you’re selling a very expensive product or service with a high profit margin). PPC’s allows you to get relatively cheap and targeted traffic almost immediately – so I think it’s definitely on option to experiment with. Still, on the long rung I recommend you work the free SE’s. Good Luck
