    Hi guys,

I just want say that I purchased domain of .us but I am non usa resident. Now I came to know you need to submit a proof about you that you are a use resident. But I don't have this. Please suggest me that I got right information or I can use them. I have just purchased it. What should I do mail back to domain provider or there is any other way i should do. Should I continue my this work or need to take some more steps ......Suggestion appreciated .

Never heard about it. The only restriction I know is that you can't have private whois info.

So what domain registrar need a proof? :)

You have to be living in America in order to own a .us domain. All registrars ask for some sort of confirmation when you register such domains. You can lie and register such domains BUT the registry can ask for a proof of your residence if they suspect that you are not a US resident and they can take your domain from you.
I remember there used to be a very popular forum on Xboards.us and it was owned by an indian guy. The registry took the domain and now that indian guy transferred his forum to a .com domain.

In this case, you just have to partner with someone in US, get the .us domain, and then sell to you.

Either partner with someone in the US or try to use a different extension (com, org, net, etc..)

Could you please tell the name of the domain registrar, who asked you for the proof? Till, now i haven't heard an Issue like this. But, the domain name registrar have the right to ask their user to produce the documentation such as company registration, trademark registration etc.
