    Ideas/advice please...

    A site about pets/dogs.

    1. Go out to articles directories via RSS, pull in all Dog articles.
    2. Display some of those dog articles on your site (but not all).
    3. Do this pretty regularly.
    4. Add your own separate PLR articles you wrote on dog content.

    Will G/Y like this/hate this??

I did this (except for step 4). I'm doing great on Google for traffic (but not ranking), good on MSN for rankings (but not traffic), and terribly on Yahoo (bad luck). So you should do fine.

Everyone says that to do really well you need to write unique content. However, that doesn't mean you can't moderately well with stuff from article directories.

The challenge is to optimise your site better than everyone elses. A challenge, but not impossible.

    Cryo.

This sounds like the most simple and cost effective recipe of success implemented by the most of SEO services out there. Indeed, success will come, depends to how you look at it - traffic or ranking?

I have a comment about number 2. If you will display those articles on your site..uch is dublicated content..and google may not like it much, because now your site from being total unique comes to the dublicated clone..
