Hi Everyone, We are a news blog site, we'd published more than 2000 press releases from PR sites on daily basis in the last 2 years. We have not been backlinking to the original press release page on the PR sites. We have about 20% original content on our site. Our site traffic is growing, and we plan to restructure and clean up our site to improve ranking. We'd like to ask if we should stop publishing press releases? Or we should still publish them but link back to original press release page? For our 2000+ existing published press releases. Would you suggest us to delete them and redirect the URL with 301 redirect? Or simply keep them as they are? Thank you for your suggestion and insights!
Too much press release can hurt your site. You can earn some bad links and your rankings will fall definitely. And don't delete them you might pick up some good links too. What are you primarily doing about your link profile? I am curious now because I have seen this thread in other forums.
PR is good way to notified by search engines in less time, many are doing that. But coming to your scenario it depends on various things like what other link building or so techniques your team use? What kind of hosting you are using? What is your link profile? Is your technology robust or not?
If your all contents are original and good then do 301 redirection but if contents were not original then remove these. Do not post more than 2 press release in a week.
Hi mrb1129, Thank you for your reply, but allow us to clarify, all these press releases are sent to us by PR firms, so we publish them on our new blog, so we'd like to ask your opinion on what to do with the 2000 press releases that are already published on our blog over the last years? We get backlinks from people sharing our original contents.

Hi mrb1129, Not really, only less than 1% are ranking..... Only our original contents are ranking, so we plan to delete this zombie pages. Would you recommend the logical steps to take?
Is it a right decision to expect seo ranking by posting in press release websites? Googling for some best price sites also.
