Publishers, you should hate me, advertisers you should love me.

I recently noticed how much I go to a website using the URL on the adsense listening instead of clicking the link, so in turn I am creating problems for publishers and making advertisers life easier. Does anyone else do this?

always  Shouldn't, I guess, but always do. Force of habit - don't want to accidentally click on my own ads

Did you mean 'listing' rather than 'listening'? Well, actually, you are not alone in this. I think some 30% of the people type in the address rather than click on the link. Its not just adsense but all types of online advertising cmbined including affiliate links. I read this a while back in the New York Times. They are actually trying ways to reduce this.

On the computer that I am surfing with I have
the Adsense ads blocked, as this is also the
computer with which I work on my sites.
This way I never risk clicking on any of them.

The computer next to my main one has Google
ads so that I can check my sites, and if I see
some interesting ads on this 2nd computer I
don't have problem clicking on them, but it
    happens rarely.

I only do this on my own site. On other sites I click the ad if I find it interesting and want to check it out.

I normally don't look at ads at all, regardless of where they are or what site they're on.

Wow, so you intentionally are an inappreciative jerk.

Since ive been using adsense I actually pay attention to ads on others sites and do click them

Actually ad placement is the first thing I look for in a site

On my own site, I will type the address out.
But on other sites, it depends. Sometimes I'll type it out too, but mostly click on it so that the publisher will be happy.

On other sites I will click the ads directly, on my own sites, I type the URL :)

I actually started visiting more Adsense links after becoming a publisher (and an advertiser) . Specially affiliate links , I have a personal preference of subscribing/joining/buying through affiliates and not directly - It doesn't cost me a penny , and makes someone much happier .
I hate automated MFAs though, and usually avoid clicking ads on such sites.
