If I where to publish a program that returned the PageRank for a given page, do think Google would frown on this?
If you can develop an add on toolbar for firebox or mozilla and display the PR, that would be extremely useful.
There's a great site that acts pretty much like Google but withy the addition of PR. The site is www*webmasterbrain*com/prog
The threads that had it where filled with <snip>s. That website is so uptight. I will incorporate the PageRank into my implementation of Google's API and post it in the upcoming days (and hope that I don't get blacklisted).
I think it should be ok If you use Google API other than html parsing. I saw an error message when I used mcdar.net'KeywordTool two weeks ago, something like : "you broke Google's service terms", but now mcdar has fixed the problem.
So now that it doesn't seem Google really cares about sites that have a PR checker, I've published my own. I've started a thread about it here... http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1519
Hi disgust Do you know who has developed the Firefox PR addon? Just looked on the Firefox extensions site and the 'Google Bar' there does not include a PR display. Regards Mick
there's a link on the first page of this thread I never used it personally but it certainly sounded like you could check PR with it..
I now give PageRank Search Results on my site as well. I've started a thread up to discuss my implementation in particular. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=15226#post15226
