- you dont have to worry , i told every one than i personally expererienced that thing and i counter it easily - we are shy cz in our heart we knew that we dnt know any thing , so you have to counter these wordings ( we dont know any thing), to counter it you have to learn alot thats it when you have knowledge you can beat evey one single handidly - what ever you do , always get optmistic view about it and learn from it cheers Danish Muzaffar
I was absolutely miserable when I took my public speaking class; however, I ended up doing really well because of one thing: memorization. I was always a terrible public speaker so for the class, I got as close to memorizing my speeches/presentations as possible. Consequently, I knew it so well that I could not only repeat it, I was able to answer any questions people asked me simply because I knew my topic so well from memorizing everything. Hmm. Hope that helps! Good luck on the 23rd...
Thanks for all the input. I'm pretty sure I'm going to finish completing my presentation the night before it's due haha. I do try to go up in front with a I-DGAF mentality but I lose the confidence when I lose my train-of-thought. I'm pretty sure the best way to counter act this is by memorizing material. But then again at times, when we have to play that game on talking about random topics (somethings you can't memorize for ). How can I keep myself focused to allow myself to think clearly without losing my train-of-thought? It's strange but I perceive eye contact with the audience as intimidating but not with the teacher Also, are there communities/forums that help with this (have online vocal conversations)??, because overall I don't really socialize unless I'm with close friends (I'm shy). I think it'd be beneficial if I started to talk more.
I was really shy before I started giving speeches. I gave some in high school and a lot more in college. The good news is that they get easier, each time that you give one. The other good news is that if you screw it up, the vast majority of people will forget it, by night time. A lot of fears about giving speeches are just unnecessary worrying. You'll be fine and the moment it is over, you will be elated!
- pretty simple my Dear, divide yourself on few people - when you are delivering your presentation , focus your frnd at a time, then after getting only 10% confidense divert to another frnd - so 10% for one frnd and for getting 100% you have 10 frnds and if you do this , no one can judge that you are contacting only 10 frnds simple nd dimple lolz regards Danish Muzaffar
You situation reminds me of my presentation time I've always missed presentations and thus lost grades, lol If you have great knowledge and understanding about something, you don't need to worry.
I'm thinking about presenting about aliens and UFOs lol. The thing is I don't have any friends in that class college is an entirely new place which makes speech more intimidating. Does anyone know any efficient ways to relieve anxiety?? I've learned how to handle my heart rate but I lose my train of thought. Thus, I begin to stutter and mix my words. That's something I really hate
- the reason is lack of confidense , always try to think all the small or big achievements in the past you did - to get rid of anxiety ,practice more and more cheerz Danish Muzaffar
- thats the main problem , our imagination - if we imagine as if we like then we can achieve every thing good advice "dele "
I suppose I seem to have those tips in mind. Hopefully they'll work Also, I need some topic suggestions please!!! I know I have to choose one on my own but so far I'm thinking aliens, UFOs, paranormal, etc. I don't want to come off as weird & crazy to people I don't even know. I don't even want to mention conspiracies. Please suggest topics that will interest a wide-audience. thanks so much for the input so far, it's GREATLY appreciated!
well the currents hot topics are - oil prices - economic crises to the modern world - elections etc etc cuurents situation of the world and many more you can choose the topic which has some traces in your mind already so that you can easily pick it and learn it quickly cheerz Danish Muzaffar
ohh cmon... u can not be shy enough... u have frens... just go to them start chatting... before presentation just walk up the stage repeat ur presentation dont focus on anyone and u wud be muttering in no time..
I had to do it recently in front of a gathering of people, if you can write down what you want to say then do. Dont try and rush through it, you will get yourself into a panick. Its normal to be nervous about it, just means you care how you come across. Ever seen how calm tv people can appear? but once they are holding a piece of paper you see how shaky they are. Dont focus on the people you are standing infront of, just focus on what your saying.
i hope it all works out for the best, thanks! please more topic suggestions, i plan to work on it this weekend less than a week left till the big day!
My wife is a born public speaker. Throw her into a room full of people she never met and she turns all heads. She's funny, witty but very informative all at the same time and of course she does it in style. Her tips, talk a lot, read a lot, watch a lot of TV too (quoting their dialogue that is) oh and did i mention? She practices in the shower, in front of the mirror, in the car, wherever possible. Try it, u'll be amazed with the results
