Public Service Ads?

All of a sudden my leaderboard ads changed to one big public service ad by Google. Any ideas as to if this is good or bad? Do those ads pay any better or worse? Sorry I'm new to AdSense...

Usually they pay less than regular ads, but in rare cases it can pay out. Rare is the keyword though. Usually you get PSA's if..

    1. G can't produce ad's relevant to your site
    2. You have bad content (porn, warez)
    3. You have 0 content.
    4. You suck

Huh? I thought PSA ads don't pay? I mean, that's why they are called public service? Anyway, most probably it's because Google don't have enough advertisers to fill the inventory for specific keywords. Why don't you set the default to other ad network so you still get income?

    PSAs don't pay...
Alternatively, set up an alternate ad by accessing into your adsense account...:)

I've checked the list of reasons for why google may put public service ad and none of the reasons apply to me. Strangely they do seem to go away when I refresh the page so I guess it's just a fluke. It's odd because after about a week, AdSense just began showing some ads that were relavent to my content. Weird...

I had replied in Critters thread over a different topic when another user noticed the same as I had that on the home page I do not get content relevant ads but PSA adverts.

I checked with google and they said my account is fine.

I don't believe either that any of the FAQS relating to why PSA's are displayed apply to my site (throughout the rest of my site the ads are fine)

My assumption was 1 of two reasons, that my IP had been tagged so that ads weren't needlessly displayed when I visit my own site. Or two that the level of advertising is such that it would be used up too quickly if clicked from the home page and google spread it to other pages throughout the site, which for me means it is advertiser driven. I.e complaints that their pay per click accounts are used up too quickly on high traffic home pages, and they the advertisers want to see adverts on less pages within the site.

Anyone have any other views on why this may be occuring? I can say that I get paid regularly never had any spam or slef clicking and no complaint from google.

My site is in my profile for those who have advice or experienced similar events and can help.

    cheers
