Looking at the previous 2 answers - i have a slightly different way of viewing your question :D

If you are talking about public domain works on the internet...it's all free, you don't have to pay anything for it! It's basically content in all different forms, shapes and sizes that no-one has legal ownership over, so you can legally pass off the work as your own. (Obviously, don't expect to palm some of Shakespear's unpublished works off as your own)!

A lot of the stuff on there is over 70-80 years old, so you have to decide how relevant it is to this day and age. However, people were still trying to lose weight or find a partner or get out of debt all those years ago!

I have used this method before. I found a couple of public domain books on wine making. The books had about 300 pages of content. Just by adding 10 posts a day to a blog (i spent about 10 minutes re-writing each post) and rewriting some into ezine articles, i was getting decent traffic and adsense clicks within about 10 days.

There are millions and millions of public domain pages on the internet. If you google "public domain wikepedia" and then scroll to the bottom of wikepedia's page, it will give you links to sites. I believe a lot of the US government sites can give you access to public domain works.

Thanks James for your great information. I've done this, but no feedback from the one that I've tried to email to, have you have this experience before?

    Your welcome,

Sorry you have lost me now! I don't understand what you mean by you have tried to e-mail and recieved no feedback. It appears once again we are at cross purposes!

If you are talking about public domain, this hold billions of pages of free information, that you can use as your own. You don't need to e-mail anyone for this.

If you are talking about domains as in url's, i would chat to one of the earlier guys in the thread.

Sorry, i'm confused! If you can explain further what you are trying to achieve, i will try and help!

Your welcome, there is so much content @ public domain sites and much of it is still relevant today! I haven't done this for a while myself, but i may try a little experiment again! LOL! Cheers.

OK, i haven't done this for a while, but thought i'd just experiment.

I found a public domain book of learning how speak and write the english language correctly. It has 13 chapters and each chapter can easily satisy 15 - 20 blog posts.

I have set up a blogger blog and added my first 5 posts. I have monetized the blog with kontera and 2 clickbank products (learn how to write a novel and 6 figure freelance writing). I pinged the blog at ping-o-matic and pingoat. i have installed statcounter for traffic stats.

This took me 30 minutes - find a book on public domain, copy and paste my first 5 posts, find clickbank products and add pictures and links on my blog. Set up kontera and statcounter links and finally pinged my blog at the 2 sites.

I will continue to add between 5-10 new blog posts each day until i have finished the public domain book (so somewhere between 20 minutes work each day for the next month or two) i will just ping my blog and nothing else.

If people are interested in following this experiment let me know. I haven't been at DP long enough to supply external links within my posts, but am able to do this from next Thursday (21st May). So i will provide links to my blog and traffic and sales stats!

    Let's see what happens!!! :D

I think you should at least re-write it a bit so you're not facing duplicate content, although, as it's just an experiment it doesn't really matter

    Good luck !

Why not do some basic keyword research, find some longtail keyword sets to try and rank well for within this niche, then write a few articles using those keywords, submit them, AND do Keyword optimized blog posts too.

Just some thoughts to help you out.

    :)
