Public company that doesn't make money!

    Guys I was checking a company out, this company owns a bunch of forums. Alot of them. They only have a couple that are active.

    But they are a public company, they can't be earning THAAT much ey ? What is there method of revenue :S I see 1 banner of ad on one site...

    A popular misconception is that you need to be earning money to be a public company.

    Way back when, companies had to have a track record of profitability before they could list on the stock exchanges. Now, you can get listed even if you have never made a profit.

    I don't the company core business is on the site.
    The domain business is just a side business for them.
    Company earn money thru their core business arm.
