    I just pulled my pub id# from one of my sites. Is it the same for all my sites, or should I generate a unique "ad" for this purpose?

    Sorry for the n00b question, I've never shared that before.

    If you're asking about the "google_ad_client" javascript variable, yes it's a unique value for your account.
    You must use that value on all your sites.
    Is something like: google_ad_client = "pub-1234567890123456";
    EDIT:
    Also, you can specify which sites are allowed to use your pub id#.

    the pub id is unique ro your account, the ad codes do change if you choose a different layout or theme
