Pseudo-noob question

    I know stuff about making websites a lot, using cpanel and all that.

    But recently, I was asked to make a website for my college. The folders in the FTP are db, logs and wwwroot.

    The kind of websites I used to make would have a public_html folder and I knew what to do next. But the only thing I understand here is that wwwroot = public_html.

    I need to install mybb on this server but then again, site/cpanel is not there so can't create a MSQL database either.

    Why is this FTP different? Any idea what I should do to install mybb or at least create a MSQL db?
