Hi guys, We're working on a startup PSD to XHTML/CSS business and we're brainstorming for names.. Since we'd like the site to be able to expand, we're looking for something that is specific to coding, but not necessarily to the service. Right now I'm really liking the sound of CodeSublime What do you guys think? Thanks, Brennan
CodeSublime is quite a nice name actually. the trouble with names in the IT industry is that it's so hard to stand out, so i would advise getting some good branding in place, including a logo (this could even be an unusual font for your company name). good luck!
CodeSublime doesn't stand out to me. Try to place "code" in the latter part of the name, or don't use it at all -- it's a very common word. How about you invent your own new word for the name? It would spark interest from potential customers. Also, it would also make it easier for you to register a domain, register names on social media sites, be found on search engines, etc.
Honestly, it doesn't matter. You could call your company YocoLoco if you wanted and it would make little difference. Look at all the non-function type names in the IT industry. They make their name, logo, community and then brand. Another option is to look for words that relate to what you do without being direct, like CODE.
how can something this important not matter? if you're trying to build a REAL business, how can the name not matter?
