I did a search but came up short, I know this has to have been asked before so if someone can answer or point me to answer I would appreciate it.

Is using a PSD template good for SEO. I have one I like and want to use, all links and images will have an ALT tag (keyword)...is that enough for search engine crawlers?

Your question is confusing. PSD is one of photoshop format. It is .psd (photoshop document) which will have layers. PSD template have no connection with SEO. Optimised slices of the design will be inserted in to html pages in .gif format. Having alt tags is an advantage to know the image description since search engines can't read the information written in images. .psd or .jpeg can be used for slicing purpose.

    Thanks ramakrishna p,

Thats what I was thinking also. Want to use a psd template for home page but afraid I will lose ranking.

Have to look into it some more I guess.

    you are welcome!
Slice all required graphics on .psd file and save the slices for web. When you save them for web they get automatically optimised for web use. You can Name each slice with required keywords for SE purpose.
