PSAs in Polish

Ok, I'm not making a joke here, but one of my site's pages is getting PSAs in Polish, at least that's what I'm guessing since the TLD is .pl.

Is this some cruel joke G is playing on me? I've been pulling my hair out trying to get relavent ads on several pages (subject of another post) and found a messy solution, but an apparent solution nonetheless.

I'm not in Poland and there's no content that would make Polish ads appropriate.

Something is wacked. My CTR dropped to 1/3 of normal yesterday. I have a feeling wacked out PSAs are showing up all over my sites.

    Are you using PHBB?

If so, some of the credits for the software are for people with Polish names. This is likely causing the problem. If it is some other script/software, I would still look for something similar, and use the targeting exclude tags.

aeiouy, thanks for the ideas, but no PHBB and no scripts of any kind on that page, just static html.

Hmm.. How long has the site been live? It may take a while for it to get officially indexed.

The way I understand adsense is that it has a default set of target words for a page, then it updates it with the crawler... But if your site is new it does not have any information to make the default set of ads relate to your page, so it is just relating it to some other issue.

Up to you if you want to share the URL but I would be happy to look and see if there is anything noticeable triggering it.

Aeiouy - So are you saying AdSense doesn't use the .tld at all? I would think that was the issue

Seeing as AdSense puts so much weight on the url, I would think the .tld would be used in cases where 99% of the sites with that .tld use one language.

The site has been live for several years. This page was first added about one year ago and gets updated infrequently, last time was about a month or two ago.

PSAs have been showing only since the last update, about a month or so. I thought it was strange for PSAs to start showing after all that time of relavent ads. I thought maybe I'll just have to wait until the mediabot comes around again. But now PSAs in Polish. Something seems wacked.

I thought he meant the TLD of the ads is in polish not his page.. If I am wrong please correct me geomark.

I know when I set my first adsense site ever I had polish ads.. I ultimately thought it was because of what I mentioned above.. but perhaps the polish ads are some fall-through default that rarely gets triggered. Just seems odd.

Is the web page all your own (did you design it and write it yourself?) or are you using a modification of something else?

Yes, all my own content. I can't see anything on the page that should trigger the PSAs, especially in Polish.

I'm going to try renaming the file, like I did in my other post, and see if relavent ads start to show.

It's all over my site. PSAs in Polish, including the link units. No wonder why yesterday's CTR and earnings went to a fraction of normal.
