The site looks fantastic. My only worry is the promise you made to give away 1 free PS3 at launch to someone in the forums. $500 for the lower end PS3 + taxes, plus shipping! We're looking at $700 to give to someone! Or does the winner get a free PS3 to give away?

Again, this is a great site. I think it's a heck of a lot better than my PS3 site really, but for someone to buy this blindly, and then to have to pay that money this November for a PS3 is a big hit. Either they pay it, or they don't and you have the entire community totally pissed, and you wiping your hands clean because you're no longer the owner. Or have sponsors come up with the money like you were hoping?

yes the ps3 contest is still in effect however think about it this way. No other site is currently doing this. Think of it in a positive way. This is pure marketing. What better way to advertise a website? Give away the product everyone wants. Once the contest is over, you can use it to your advantage, write articles about the winner and giveaway, advertise the contest and hope people will get attracted to your website with this marketing method. That`s how I`m hoping it will workout, and I`m pretty sure it will. Kids will signup and post once they see it's possible and extremely easy to do!

It's going to be hard to deliver on that promise based on the new PS3 launch numbers though. : ( 400,000 to the US at Launch day, and even less to say Canada where I'm at. I know you probably wouldn't take this offer, but if I could get the site for $500, and knew I could get a hold of a PS3 at launch day, I would probably consider it. But putting more like $2000 down minimum (when you throw in the price of the PS3 and next day shipping to a location that could be anywhere in the world). But you've got to stick to your guns. You've got a great looking developed PS3 site and forums. And that new redesign offer really is a good one. Looks great. I don't have quite that money to cover all the costs I mentioned, but it's a great site that really deserves to be moved at a fair price.

Not trying to spam your thread but you said no other site is currently doing this. Mine is giving away 4 PS3's. And to everyone else who is hesitant because of his PS3 giveaway, it really is good exposure/pr for your site.

 

my bad, I havent seen your website then. I`ve looked for many websites that offer a ps3 giveaway and most of them are the hydranetwork contest. The one that you sign up by putting your email etc.

 

Yeah, same here. Not even PS3portal or PS3forums (Which is ranked #1 in google for pretty much everything PS3 has done that).
