I spent 12 hours wandering from Best Buy to Best Buy Thursday night in Chicago with a camera, a notebook and some friends. We found some pretty interesting stories about the people waiting for a PS3 and have just now pulled them together.
That's nuts, but at least your story was peaceful! There was a link to an eBay auction in one of the threads here about a person who beat everyone for their spot in line when they went on a bathroom break!
That's cool that it worked out nicely for you. I also saw that eBay auction... What a loser.. Anyway, I missed out on doing the PS3 or Wii campouts this year due to prior engagements, but reading that made me miss it even more. I was 2nd in line for the XBOX 360 last year and that was a really fun experience.
