Im sure this has been posted before, but PRWeb is very good and has my recommendation. Yesterday I released a press release ($40), it has gotten me a free PR5 link, and doubled the number of visitors to my site on the first day. I really do recommend it if you have a new, unique site you want to advertise.
But will it bring in constant, continued traffic and consistent earnings? Will you get a return on investment? Those are the questions one must ask.
Another consideration with respect to Press Releases, if they are professional, is it gives you credibility. And it provides you with a way to document your milestones throughout the year. So there are lots of good reasons to publish press releases -- thanks for info about your success.
It just keeps getting better. Through the new website that I did the publicity for, I have managed to drive loads of traffic and signups to one of my old sites, so its win win all round... But yeh, I agree, you have to make it professional. I must admit, my idea wasnt that unique at all, and still it got me loads of visitors. Pete
Another suggestion is to send it out to your local media outlets, editors. Depending on how you pitch it you might get picked up there too.
I agree that the success of a press release distribution site very much depends on how good the press release is. I see a huge amount of press releases which are basically just glorified adverts: their "story" boils down to simply "I have a business. Buy from it" or "I have a website. Visit it", and unless those businesses or websites are very unique, the best distribution site in the world isn't going to make a lot of difference. It's all about the angle. Oh, and I'd also have to agree with Vanessa: it's a good idea to distribute to local media, too. They're normally hungry for news and desperate to fill space Amber
I've been to PRweb and the cheapest package I've seen is $119. Is there someplace else I need to be looking? I've seen people state it cost $30 or $40. I guess I'm missing something. I'd love to start using press releases for advertising, but I can't afford $120 a pop and do them very often.
are "free" press releases effective? i'm not even sure if they still exist but you used to be able to do free ones with prweb and prfree and others...
The cheapest package is currently $40. If you scroll down from the more expensive packages you should find some cheaper options. You can also chose to make a "contribution" - minimum of $10 gets you access to the press release stats, i.e number of views, number of times it was printed out etc.
Seems like a great idea... I suppose it is great to have a good 'story' that makes up the press release.. so that is where copywriting skills come in.. What type of niche sites are ideal for a PR web release?
This has been on my list of things to do. Is your press release posted online? I would love to take a peek at it. Thanks for posting your success.
I find PRWeb to be very useful. I wouldn't recommened totally 'free' press release because it will not get much exposure. I would recommened that you spend at least 40 dollars or 80 would be optimum since your press release will be shown on google news and yahoo news, which will bring loads of traffic. You can also look into PRWeb Direct service. Make sure you write a good press release, because like people stated above, even though you use the best distribution service, if your release is not good, you are losing money.
PR Leap is free as well I believe. I typically use PR Web's $80 option. I have two new press releases written and almost ready to go. Best of luck to all of you with your PR. Happy writing!
there are a lot just like PRWeb there is PRFree as well, but their layout seem to be all the same. maybe they are owned by the same company
I have signed in and still do not seeing the $40 or $80 options, do you have to have a PR listed to see these options?
