Fact there is no law to collect taxes yet we do.. (a man just won in court a victory on him having to pay taxes) Fact the government is to provide laws and protection not all the other crap they do now . It wasn't until around 1916 the first world war Income taxes began ,they were to be short term ... The country got it money from other forms of taxes but not income taxes... Liberals just don't want to see the truth about taxes ... This year US government collect something like 3.5 trillion dollars (most ever)..And guess what all from Bush cutting taxes ... And they were not tax cuts for the rich man how many time will you believe the liberal lies ... Fact is you taxes people more they create less taxes revenue for the US government ... How ? We are speaking of most income type taxes so greater tax burden on the people,therfore the less they can spend ... Spending generates the nation growth .....
The government need income from taxes, that we can agree on? Moving all the taxes from the income to the consume would affect the middle class a lot and the lower class very much. Its only the upper class that would benefit from that because they would still have enough money to pay $5 for a bread, $40000 for a decent car and so on.
it has nothing to do with moving to consumer taxes ... If the USA Government stop providing the thing it's not create too or suppose too like social programs it would need less.. It like the Dem in their debate tonite verbalizing the same old tax cuts for the rich ... funny I guess I am the rich then because my taxes we cut (no I am not rich )... And when the Dem raise taxes we all will feel the hit too. Understand the more they can taxes us the more they can control us...
I find your view interesting danephillips. I like the principles of true liberalism and capitalism, but as I come from the other side politically I wonder, how can the poorest people get health care in a total capitalistic society?
