Hey'all, I'm-a-wantin to set up a few proxy servers to make some spare cash But I've never done anything to do with proxys before How would I go about starting to do this? Is it free? You need a script, glype is the best (glype.com) and you need a sever (wdservers.com is best) and then upload the script. Pick up a free template on glype.com. Then get adsense, adversal, canep, global interactive, media shakers, freedom of ads and adbrite accounts. (all free). Then Put ads on the proxies and advertise. Get traffic and cash your checks! You have make a good choice to start make money online by starting proxy site. No its not free. You need to have domain/hosting to run this website. While for script you can use open source script. The cost is relative low compare to other kind of site at it less than $10
Is there an idiots guide/explanation to what a proxy is etc - I am always reading on here about people setting up roxies but I dont know what they are!
No offense but if you don't know what a proxy is, you shouldn't consider starting one until you've done your research. The links given here are good, but do your research first before you invest any money. 1. Don't have PROXY in the URL, most filters block based on certain keywords 2. Don't use CGI-Proxy, it hogs bandwidth and uses tons of resources. 3. Look for bandwidth-safe code to add to your proxies so people don't use it to download through rapidshare and other large hosts.
