Just wanted to ask the proxy webmasters in here a question.

Do you like hosting packages with multiple domains OR additional addon domains?

    Thanks
    Eddie

Perhaps I worded it wrong and for that I'm sorry. What I meant was do you want multiple domains (meaning you have to have a domain name purchased for each one) or one domain name and addon domains available for you?

    Thanks
    Eddie

I like having the ability to have as many domains on my accounts as I want..I have a shared hosting account where I keep my good sites (blogs, forums, etc) and I have around 20 domains on it, and then I have another hosting account for other sites, often referred to as 'money sites'. I have a ton of domains, and I need somewhere to host them all...

You are talking about subdomains here not add-on domains

    Subdomains like 01.domain.com & 202.domain.com and 03.domain.com etc...

Add-on domains means you sign up for hosting with 1 domain then you can add more than a domain into the same account (usiang same cpanel for all domains)

Another thing is reseller which you can create a separate control panel account for every domain

I hope that the picture is clear now ;)

I wasn't talking about subs nor did I mention them. And when I corrected myself before, I said the same exact thing that you just posted here Tech.

Thanks for your input though....and for making the picture clear....

So the question stands...do proxy webmasters just want one domain and lots of addon domains?

    Thanks
    Eddie

Who won't like to get more for same price ? who won't like to host 3 proxies for the same cost of hosting one ?

It's just about bandwidth thy can use the the speed of the server ;)

I don't see why subdomains matter for proxies..if one gets banned, usually they ban by the entire domain, so all subdomains would be banned. Just use different domains, like .info. They are only 99 cents, depending where your register them.

I think he means: several domains each on 1 hosting package or 1 hosting package with several domains ...

The answer depends on the eventually different IP numbers or eventually different servers.

The best is each domain on its own hosting package with its own IP and own CPU use. But this is an expensive solution

You can setup some proxy's (about 5) per hosting plan. If you stay with the same hosting-provider ask another IP for your other hostingplans and if possible on another server...So you separate the Bandwidth and CPU use for better results... and not overloading the server and your BW

And what if your visitors decrease... perhaps your proxy site is on a ban-list ... What to do
    1. A proxy could get banned on the name... don't worry just set up a new add-on domain on the same hosting and start all over and promote your new proxy site again...
    2. A proxy could get banned on the IP... So if you have several proxy domains on 1 IP and the IP is banned then all the domains (let's say add-on domains on the same hosting package) on that IP are banned. you can do two things: 1) ask you hosting provider a new IP - mostly possible- or 2) look for a new hosting company... and just move your proxy sites
So what is the advice: no more than 5 proxy's (add-on domains) on 1 hosting plan. And set up several hostings with different IP"s (and servers if possible) You can do this with the same hosting company or look for another to be sure you have different IP's and Servers...

But be carefull in choosing ... cause many so called hosting company's who says they host proxy's disappear soon or get in troubles (overloading)... and ... your sites are down !!

I Think heis talking about packages like godaddys deluxe hosting package where you have 1 hosting account for one domain and can add other .com's .info etc to the same hosting account but all on one ftp account / ip / root folder!
(so you can host all of your domains on one account for one low price):D

i use the godaddy deluxe hosting and wish i could afford not to!
its nice but i have sites that i dont want to risk hacks etc and if they are in the same hosting account all you domains and files can get effed up i had 12 sites /different .com's domains get effed up at one time cuz of one unsecure image hosting site! hosted on the same account!

but i would use and recommend a package like this just for proxys /basic site no upload or hacking pr bandwidth risk

also i hear this is not good if you sell links or use 1of your sites to link to another one of your site's!

    Hope this helps
    Good Luck
    PeAcE uNo

ps let me know if you need and one to test your service!:D
