Proxy topsites...questions

I have a question about proxy topsites I hope someone can answer..

I added a proxy site to about 25 topsites a week ago and placed the links on my site. when checking my traffic stats I can see traffic coming from only a few of them. So I check all the sites and the vast majority of them don't have my site listed. On the ones where it is listed my site is in the top 5.

Do topsite owners need to manually approve each site added?

Is there a list anywhere of topsites that actually work?

    thanks.

If they are using aardvark topsites script, then there is an option for webmasters as to whether they wish to manually approve each submission. I am manually approving each as I could not get the captcha worknig correctly on my server.

Overall, I am not convinced that a majority of proxy traffic actually comes from proxy top sites, but for the initial boost of getting the proxy's name on the net, I think they work. Also, there is soo much competition on the top sites websites, so it would be tough to break the top 10 if your site is relatively new.

I own three large topsites and find it impossible to keep them clean unless a manual check is performed. If you dont manually verify you'll find your topsite overrun with turkish spam links unless you keep an eye on it 24/7. I also tend not to accept mass-submissions or bog standard setups.

Thanks guys, I suppose it's just a matter of waiting until the owners get around to authorising the sites. The sites are mass submitted or standard so that isn't the problem. I'll submit my sites to the sites listed above..

At the moment Topsites are bringing about 10% of my traffic

you know ,maybe some of these tosites have been blocked in your visitors countries
so your website wont show their logo/banner
    no count
and your website might go down on the list
so no more clicks for you
    i tried proxy200 ,nice 1
    try it

Other possibility is that you have not sent any traffic to the topsites, there are some topsites that turn 'inactive' your listing if you dont send any traffic in X days. For example in my topsites I set the inactive time to one week, after these time, if you have not sent me any hit the system turn off your listing.

    Good luck.
