Proxy sites - a look after 1 month

Over the lest few months there has been a lot of talk about running proxy sites. So, about a month ago, I took the plunge and jumped into the proxy pool.

I learnt quite a lot from posts here, and I just wanted to share a little of my experiences of running proxy sites over the last month. I still beleive that the proxy market is far from saturated and there is plenty of scope for those who are willing to work at it to do ok with them.

Running proxy sites has some major expenses - the biggest one being a dedicated server. After reading posts I was seeing people starting proxy's on shared hosts, get massive traffic only to find that the host shut their site down within a few days.

Proxy sites get blocked - so you need to have a plan in place to regularly launch a new site to keep building your proxy network.

The summary - It is possible with a bit of work and know-how to create a profitable proxy network. It will not make you hundreds overnight - you will need to work at it, and try things out to get the best returns. It is not a get rich quick scheme.

I am still making considerably more from my other sites than my current proxy sites, but over time, it will add up and be part of my portfolio of money-making sites. Web proxys can be a solid web business but I would not make it my only web business.

There are still a few things I have not tried in order to maximise my income from Proxy sites and just like a content site, I will check them all out and find what works the best for me.

1- Adsense crack down and ban your account.

Yes, proxy sites aren't really a good site to invest too, if you do, make sure you have some sort of iptables that blocks traffic from foreign countries other then USA, Canada, and UK of course.

No AdSense won't ban your account for having ads on the proxy homepage. You just can't display your ads on the proxified pages.

 

Also, it is a good idea to have a paragraph or two of relevant explanatory text on your proxy homepage since you are not allowed to have ads on pages with 'no content'

 

Yep. Plus the paragraph will help target your ads, so you're actually showing ads that people will click.

 

I actually need help finding and accessing an SSL enabled proxy. Im told I need proxy : port format.

The proxy market is most DEFINITELY saturated.

 

There is still plenty of money to be made, dozens of proxies get banned everyday leaving room for new ones.

 

QFT - I wouldn't make a proxy public anyway.

 

It ban no matter where you put.

You contact them they say okey you can put on front page only.

then after some months they ban you.

Reason is very clear.


80% of traffic coming from china, iran, Middle east.

They are died traffic with almost 0% conversion rate.

It means google dont like such a died traffic they wont tell you its due to bad traffic they just close ur account.

just do a small search for proxy web site and see how many people got banned.

 

Totally agree with you, Google rather ban you then having to lose their adwords customer because of 0 conversion traffic from these foreign countries.

Why? What's wrong with us? You are the one that's popping up the thread and keep replying WTF and WTH are you guys talking about. We are giving a heads up to proxy owners as you can see, and I already mention blocking these traffics if you kindly scroll up.

 

yeah, plenty wrong w proxies, but whining about foreign customers on adsense isn't a issue when you block them...

 

Well Getting all american traffic is not that easy.

first of all compitation is huge.
second only kids in school and guys on work using proxy.

And most of those organisation not all but most of them have filtering softwares like websense.

That software has something like 20 millions of softwares and web sites on its database for filtering.

every month its doing update to its database and adding new web sites.

And once ur web site goes their then u out of amercan traffic.
