Ive post here a few times sorry to take your time up, i have a few proxy sites ive had up for around a month, right now i have only adsense on the main pages.

Can putting ads on proxified pages earn much or is it more of distraction to people using your proxy?

(Opinions on widget/adbright would be good aswell on the topic of proxified pages)

Im already signed up with adbright how do i go about adding a their adds to a proxified page, text only im assuming? Could anyone link me their proxy site so i can see what it looks like.

One of my proxys although it only has 2000 uv a day has like 300k hits would this mean the chance of somone clicking on an add would be a hell of alot more as people somtimes directly jump to a proxified page saved on their favourites?

Again sorry to post here not sure where this thread should belong and i have looked on the proxy discuession but theres just to many pages would like to hear your experiences/opinions first hand

I use ads on the proxifies pages, in fact half of my revenue from proxies comes from the ads I use on the proxified pages. If you want to put ads there I recomend Canep, Freedom of Ads & Adbrite, My Adbrite revenue has fallen drastically since Jan but others are still making good money from them. If you want to use popups or popunders I would go with Adversal, if you can get in. I would also disable hotlinking, you're lossing alot of money & bandwith if you don't have it disabled.

As for how to place them, that would depend upon which script you're using as each script is different. Also do you want to place them at the top or in the footer, again each script is different.

here are some links for various scripts:

About half my revenue comes from the proxified pages, you ask if the ads will distract users, i think not , i mean myspace is loaded with ads yet they still have 100 million users.
I would say use adbrite/ canep media - and default unfilled inventory to the other.Adversal is also worth considering if you limit the reguality of the pop ups.
You asked about ad placing (www.proxxxi.com is mine so take a look)

    Good Luck

    Hey,

Yes, ads on proxified pages would earn quite a bit for you. CPC ads (ie. WidgetBucks) might not, because many users would skip over them to the content, unless you had a time delay in place. CPM ads (ie. AdBrite, Freedom of Ads) would be better, because the brands would get the exposure that they needed.

You can add display ads (banners) to proxified pages with AdBrite, as far as I know. You'll probably want to put the ads in a header.

    Hope that helps,
    Tim
