A few months ago my proxy site www.tomatoproxy.info had about 450 ad impressions a day with google and made about $2-$3/day but then due to lack of funds I couldnt upgrade my server until this month. I have got some advertising for the site from proxy.org and am receiving more and more visitors each day, with yesterdays being at about 550 ad impressions. My problem is however that I am not earning anywhere as near as much as I was. I wondered if anyone could suggest anything to help this problem. Thanks
Switch to widgetbucks (I assume your using adsense) adsense earning have gone WAY done all accross the board and it seems everyone is having huge success with widgetbucks. Also if you want more legit traffic try TNX for text-links that will get you more traffic to your site. There's a link in my sig if you're interested.
I would try adding some more text to the page. Where you have this: "Feel free to browse the internet at school with TomatoProxy.info to unblock websites like Myspace, Bebo, Facebook, Friendster, hi5 and more!" Try expanding it to include more keywords. If you look at the original template, you'll see there is space under the URL box for more text (About web proxies...). If you reinstate this and make the text unique it may help adsense to display more relevant and better earning ads... JB
The reason why I took it off was because it was copied directly from proxy.org and Baron was not pleased when he saw it. I will replace it though.
The current version of the template doesn't include that particualr text for that reason. However, just write something with keywords in and it should help your ads.. JB
Try blocking Iranian traffic. When I did that I noticed a big increase in CTR and a significant drop in bandwidth usage.
Currently Iranian traffic is my highest proportion of traffic, so what revenue I do earn is because of them.
It's very easy to write a text file with the destinations in it, but it gets massive very quickly, I tried once and it ended up about 500mb within a few hours! I'd recommend google analytics to find the most popular ones, unless you sql to just use counters and create new records when needed. Could be done that way in a text file too I suppose.
if you want to monitor, on what sites is your visitor go using your proxy, just go to your cpanel and click on logs icon. you can find it there
currently it is sql.. i'm working aon a project to make a whole new proxy script if everything goes right i will release it in 2 weeks
Unfortunately I dont use cpanel so I cant see the logs there. I use lxadmin and cant quite seem to find them.
